Wayne Gordon - A Friend We'll Miss

8/22/2018

We're sorry to share the news that one of Central Hauling's most friendly and well-loved contractors has passed away after experiencing a stroke. We've wanted to show our appreciation and respect for him while honoring his family's wishes for privacy during a painful time.

Wayne Gordon had the kind of out-going, talkative, positive personality that drew friends and strangers alike wherever he went. Many of our drivers, contractors, and employees will feel his loss deeply. We're grateful to have had the chance to know him and wish his family comfort and peace while they grieve.

This Friday, CalArk and Central Hauling will be planting a tree here at our Little Rock property to honor what he meant to so many of us. It will serve as a memorial to him and continue to be a place where we show respect to other drivers we may miss as time goes on.

The planting is planned for the day of his funeral because, as he is being laid to rest in one place, we want him to be given life symbolically in another. We'll be livestreaming this so that many of you who might be on the road can still be included in showing our respect as a company and as coworkers. We'll give more details about time and how to watch or attend later tomorrow.

It's hard to lose someone who has touched so many. We offer our condolences to his family and the many others who will miss him. Thank you, Wayne, for sharing part of your life with us!

Dorsey Scott - 1 Million Mile Driver

Central Hauling is proud to celebrate one million miles with Dorsey Scott, who has partnered with us as an independent contractor for eight years.

We may not have been in the cab while he did a pre-trip inspection on a snowy day or plotted his way to an unfamiliar location after a long drive, but we know it takes tough men and women to do what our independent contractors do over the course of that many years and miles.

Central Hauling is grateful that Dorsey and his family have chosen to work with us and hope he'll be around for a million miles to come. Congratulations, and thank you for steering the way!
